Just Retire, This Is 2024 – Critic Lambastes New Snippet Of Wizkid (Video)

Wizkid retire music

Nigerian music star Wizkid has been urged to retire himself from music, following a snippet.

A music critic on X, with the name Otunba, reacted to a new snippet from the camp of Wizkid.

The teaser (snippet) is an unreleased remix to the collaboration between DJ Tunez and Terry Apala. Tunez, who is Wizkid’s official DJ, had announced weeks back that his principal was going to be on the remix.

The X critic, who was not impressed by Wizkid’s performance on the song, saw a video of the artist smoking to his verse in the studio and straightforwardly asked in a post that he retire from music.

“Make Wizkid just retire from music,” read the post. “Looool this is 2024 fgs.”

His reaction has been greeted with divided opinions by social media users.

Calls for Wizkid to retire have been consistent for a few years now, and the 33-year-old Grammy winner would have definitely learnt of it.

Even if he didn’t see any of them (let’s say he doesn’t read critics), he most clearly saw Davido’s during their recent face-off on X.

Davido threw a shot at him, that people don’t recognize his music anymore. In pidgin English he wrote, “Dem no know your gbedu again.”

Similarly, Davido’s logistics manager, Israel, jumped into the lions’ fight, calling Wizkid out via Instagram to resign honorably since there’s nothing else to sing.

But Wizkid seems to be plotting. He has on the way a new album named Morayo, after his late mother.
