Davido Co-wrote Chris Brown’s Hit Song “Under The Influence”

How Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido co-wrote Chris Brown’s biggest song of this decade ‘Under The Influence’.

‘Under The Influence’ marked the third collaboration between American singer Chris Brown and Davido. It follows their previous collaborations ‘Blow My Mind’ and ‘Lower Body’.

The song was released as the third track on the extended edition of Chris Brown’s ninth studio album Indigo, released on October 4, 2019.

However, the song didn’t make notable impacts when it was first released until three years later when it went viral and became a sleeper hit via TikTok.

In Summer of 2022, ‘Under The Influence’ went Platinum in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Switzerland, became the most streamed song globally on iTunes, and helped Brown become the first R&B singer in history to have over fifty top-40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

How Davido Co-wrote ‘Under The Influence’

In case you didn’t know, ‘Under The Influence’ was first written by Davido, and entirely produced by KDDO (Kiddominant), before he decided to send it to Chris Brown.

According to Chris Brown’s comment on Instagram, he also confirmed that he received the song from Davido and only ‘brushed it up’.

The R&B star made the confirmation when the song became the most Shazammed in the world a few months back.

A proud Davido shared Chris Brown’s post and comment on his Instagram story. He also shared the chat they had where Chris Brown thanked him for sending him the song.
