Multi-talented Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has set a new record through his hit song ‘Peru’ with Ed Sheeran.
‘Peru’ is a song by Fireboy DML, released on 20 July 2021, through YBNL Nation and distributed by Empire. A remix version of ‘Peru’, released on 23 December 2021, features UK singer Ed Sheeran.
Exactly one year ago today since the remix was released, it has bagged 2X Platinum in the United Kingdom (UK), becoming the first Afrobeats record in history to attain the feat.
This new accomplishment, therefore, has made Fireboy DML be the first Afrobeats artist to have a double Platinum certified song in the UK.
Fireboy has sold a record 1.6 million units of ‘Peru’ with Ed Sheeran, in the UK.
