I’m Like Godfather To Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido – Singer Oritsefemi

Nigerian singer Oritsefemi has pronounced himself godfather to the famous Afrobeats “Big 3”–Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.

Burna Boy tapped on a sleeping wild cat few days ago when he shouted out OGs in the Nigerian music industry who had positively affected him, and snubbed Oritsefemi, his former landlord.

When Oritsefemi granted an interview two or three days after Burna’s shout-outs, he told the world a secret (if it can be called that) about Burna, about him once squatting at his place.

He said Burna ran away from home one time in the past because his mother, Bose Ogulu, was “suffocating him,” and he came only to one place to find shelter: Oritsefemi’s mansion in Lekki.

The popular Ajegunle-bred artist who reigned from mid ’00s into early ’10s, Oritsefemi also claimed he influenced Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and a lot of young artists.

To host Chude Jideonwo, Oritsefemi said, “I had already made money [from the music industry] when some people were sleeping [yet to come into limelight].

“Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, so many of them [young artists], I encouraged them. I’m like their godfather.”

Speaking further, he said he had accommodated some female celebrities in his Lekki mansion, who (he added) now trolled him on social media.

“Even some female celebrities who are now trolling me on social media,” he said, “I accommodated them in my mansion in Lekki back in the days.”
