‘Rush’ Review: Has Ayra Starr Found Her Sound For Good And All?

Nigerian songwriter and Afro-pop singer, Ayra Starr has shared her first single in 2022. The single, titled ‘Rush’, is also the lead to her ‘19 & Dangerous’ album deluxe, expected to be released on October 14.

In 2021, Ayra starr made known her entry into the music industry with her smash hit ‘Bloody Samaritan’, which was closely followed by the album ‘19 & Dangerous’.

Although the album did averagely well, it’s a good debut album. (Hopefully, the deluxe version can bring back people’s attention to that fantastic album!)

Rush’ Review: Has Ayra Starr Found Her Sound For Good And All?

That being said, Ayra starr, the Afro-pop genius, tapped Andre Vibez (producer of ‘Calm Down’ by Rema) for the production of her new single, ‘Rush’.

With ‘Rush’, has Ayra Starr found her sound for good and all?

‘Rush’ is a laid-back Afropop tune with a very catchy chorus “E dey Rush” and a hummable melody.

In ‘Rush’, Ayra gives God the glory for her spontaneous success in entertainment, celebrates her wins, and tells haters to get a life, as she only wants to focus on money onward.

Giving the song a deeper listen, one can easily spot Ayra Starr’s improvement as a songwriter; but, that’s not all. A much deeper listen establishes that the ‘Celestian Being’ might have found her sound for good and all!

Perhaps, and as Ayra herself wrote on her Instagram page, the reason for her not dropping a single for months was to master her sound. And she just might have found it!
